  • Is the abstract part of an organized CBA-ABC symposium?
    • If so, select the symposium from the list

  • Underline the presenting author
  • DO NOT include the word ‘and’ before the last author.
  • Include institutional affiliations for each author with a superscript number *after* each author’s name.  If all authors are from the same institution, this is not necessary.
  • The abstract should summarize the research questions, methods, findings, and implications discussed in the presentation or poster. The abstract must not exceed 300 words.
  • Italicize all scientific names.

Presentation and Poster Guidelines

Contributed Presentations

Time slots for *all* contributed presentations (CBA and SPNHC) will be 20 minutes. Please plan your talk to last not more than 15 minutes,

leaving a few minutes for questions and time to move to a concurrent session in an adjacent room.

Special presentations (e.g., plenary talk, named lectures, introductory symposium talks) will range in length from 40 to 60 minutes.  If you

are uncertain about how much time you have, please consult the final schedule or contant the organizing committee.

Poster Guidelines

Poster boards will be 4' x 4', so the dimensions of your poster cannot be greater than this.  The rest is up to you!

Tip for preparing effective posters:

Keep it simple! For maximum impact of your work, keep the text to a minimum and ensure your poster is easy to read.

Please consider the environment when having your poster printed.

Know your stock: ask your printer about the options.  Many offer recycled (with high-percentage of post-consumer fiber), FSC-

certified, process chlorine-free and/or elemental chlorine-free paper, some of which are also manufactured using sustainable

energy sources.  Many printers still assume that you are not interested in eco-friendly options unless you mention it

specifically, so be sure to make enquiries.

Know your ink: ask your printer what is possible.  Non-toxic, vegetable-based inks are the kindest choices for the environment.

Know your poster's future: consider a non-laminated poster, if possible, so that it can be recycled.
